Colton Peltier and Choirs!
Sunday, February 11, 3 PM
Join us as we welcome Hastings native and one of our first Young Artists’ Competition winners, Colton Peltier, in his triumphant return to the Dakota Valley Symphony. Our principal oboist, Ellen Diischer who is also from Hastings, remembers an early performance when “Colton’s feet didn’t reach the piano peddles”. Indeed, Colton has been studying and practicing the piano since he was 3 years old and has just completed a Master’s Degree in piano performance at the Julliard School. Colton will perform one of the most beloved works of all time; Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. The second half of the concert will feature our Symphony Chorus, Tucker Moore, Chorusmaster together with guest choirs numbering in the hundreds for John Rutter’s joyful Mass for the Children.
